Job summary

The American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, CT is hiring a Staffing and AI Coordinator to manage full life cycle recruiting, perform background checks, and guide candidates through the hiring process. The role uses AI tools to write fair, accurate job descriptions and stay compliant with employment laws.

Applicants should have at least three years in HR, a Bachelor's degree or HR Certification, and strong communication skills; ASL proficiency is highly desired.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in Human Resources.
• Bachelor's Degree and/or HR Certification preferred.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language highly desired; interest in learning ASL.
• Familiarity with union environment helpful but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Full life cycle recruiting for openings, posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and guiding candidates through the hiring process.
• Conducts background and credential verifications and verifies eligibility.
• Post ASD open positions to external websites as instructed.
• Manage interview process and make recommendations on qualified applicants.
• Use AI to format job descriptions and postings consistently.
• Stay updated on HR trends, regulations, and employment law.
• Provide HR customer service to internal and external customers.
• Assist HR team initiatives in wellness, training, safety, and culture.
