84.51° is a retail data science, insights and media company partnering with Kroger and other retailers. We seek a Solutions Architect to design foundations powering AI-enabled products across the Kroger Precision Marketing portfolio.

You will translate complex product needs into scalable, production-ready architectures, APIs, and data pipelines. You will work with data scientists, ML engineers, software engineers, data engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to prototype ideas, validate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 7+ years in software/data/platform/solutions.
• 3+ years in technical leadership or architecture roles.
• Experience designing distributed systems and APIs.
• Strong patterns: microservices, event-driven, DDD, evolution.
• Cloud experience, preferably Azure, with data platforms.
• Prototyping concepts into production.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product, data science, and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to shape solutions.
• Design end-to-end architectures across data platforms, APIs, and AI apps.
• Translate needs into technical designs, roadmaps, and diagrams.
• Build prototypes and reference implementations to validate ideas.
• Define architecture patterns for cloud apps, data pipelines, and AI workflows.
• Guide build vs. buy decisions and key system design choices.
• Shape API strategies for secure, consistent data and models access.
• Create solution design docs, API specs, architecture notes, and guidance.
• Embed with delivery teams to unblock progress and move concepts to production.
• Collaborate with security, governance, and platform teams for compliance.
