Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join a team building one of the world's largest configuration audit platforms.

You will help design, implement, and operate high-scale distributed services and AI-driven automation across resource onboarding. You will mentor engineers, own the full lifecycle from research to deployment, and help maintain a balanced, flexible work culture.

Qualifications

• 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1 year of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C, Java, or Perl experience
• 1 year of Object Oriented Design experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate high-scale, highly available distributed services that extend AWS Config.
• Design and build AI agent orchestration systems that automate resource type onboarding at scale
• Own solutions across the full lifecycle: design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and support.
• Own operational excellence for agentic workflows – monitoring, alerting, and self-healing mechanisms
• Mentor and guide junior engineers through design reviews and constructive, rigorous code reviews.
• Bring structure to ambiguous problems, manage competing priorities, and make data-driven decisions.
