Job summary

Skyworks is seeking a Winter/Spring 2027 Co-Op to support the semiconductor process engineering team in developing an AI tool for day-to-day troubleshooting and root cause analysis. This paid internship offers exposure to AI/ML tooling, data pipelines, and dashboards in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The role requires pursuing a degree in a technical field, Python proficiency, and experience with data analytics and large datasets.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Available for a full-time Co-Op assignment from January through June 2027.
• Coursework or project experience involving artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, software development, or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Understanding of data visualization tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of SQL and working with large datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to engineering stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with semiconductor process engineers to understand troubleshooting workflows, failure modes, and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Design, develop, and implement AI/ML-based tools to assist engineers with day-to-day process monitoring, troubleshooting, and defect investigation.
• Collect, clean, and analyze large manufacturing datasets from process equipment, metrology systems, and production databases.
• Develop data pipelines and AI models that identify patterns, anomalies, and potential root causes of process deviations.
• Create intuitive user interfaces and dashboards that enable engineers to interact with AI-generated recommendations and insights.
• Validate AI model performance through real-world engineering use cases and continuous feedback from process engineers.
• Present project updates and final results to engineering and management teams.
