Job summary

TENEX.AI is hiring a Forward Deployed Security Automation Engineer in the San Jose, CA area. You will deploy and maintain SIEM, SOAR, and EDR environments across vendors, and build production Python services and automation that connect AI agents with security platforms.

Responsibilities include designing guarded automation workflows, troubleshooting platform issues, and owning the platform end-to-end in production, with a strong emphasis on reliability and secure operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating multiple SIEM/SOAR/EDR platforms.
• Production Python services and APIs experience.
• Integrating with complex vendor APIs including auth/retries.
• Automated detection/response workflows with safety guardrails.
• End-to-end production ownership of a platform.

Responsibilities

• Operate security platforms across vendors: deploy and maintain SIEM, SOAR, and EDR environments.
• Resolve platform issues: troubleshoot EDR agents, performance impacts, upgrades, and tuning.
• Build production software: develop Python services, APIs, and containers.
• Automate detection and response: create automated containment/remediation workflows.
• Design safety guardrails: approval thresholds, allow lists, audit trails.
• Own the platform in production: ensure reliability/latency and participate in on-call.
• Build internal tooling: create observable tools with logging and metrics.
