Job summary

Osaro, a San Francisco-based robotics software company, seeks a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team that builds AI-driven autonomous industrial robots. You will guide architecture, collaborate with ML, hardware, and infrastructure teams, and mentor engineers to deliver scalable software for pick-and-place tasks.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, system design, and delivering robust real-time software across sensor integration and perception pipelines.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field required or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of technical leadership and people management in a fast-paced startup.
• Experience programming in Rust, C++, and Python.
• Proven ability to design and maintain real-time, multi-process software systems.
• Robotics experience required or willingness to learn; travel up to 10%.
• US citizenship or Green Card holder required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team designing and developing the software platform for automation applications.
• Drive architectural design reviews and partner with ML, Hardware, and Infra teams.
• Build high-level robot behaviors and APIs to interface with robot systems.
• Integrate sensors and machine learning models into the software stack.
• Collaborate across teams to improve vision and control product performance.
• Recruit, grow, and mentor engineers and foster inclusive culture.
