Job summary

Cognizant's Quality Engineering & Assurance team is seeking a driven Quality Engineer to help shape AI-driven testing for our mission-critical applications. This role sits at the intersection of development and testing, embedding quality into every stage of the lifecycle and partnering with product and engineering teams to deliver robust software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 0–1 years of professional experience in QA/Quality Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with test automation scripts in Java and Python.
• Familiar with STLC and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered applications such as chatbots.
• Experience with hybrid automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
• Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter or Gatling.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Docker familiarity.
• Strong willingness to learn and stay current with AI/testing trends.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Write scalable automation scripts for new features and ensure robust test coverage.
• Perform API testing, interpret Swagger files, and validate endpoints with Postman or Rest Assured.
• Conduct database testing using SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
• Own quality for assigned features; create test cases and execute functional, integration, and regression tests.
• Track testing progress with JIRA, ADO, or ALM and report defects transparently.
• Implement and execute test plans for AI/ML applications, including chatbots testing.
• Leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate test development and data creation.
• Ensure AI reliability, bias checks, and model fairness in testing.
