Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its Quality Engineering & Assurance team in the United States. You will help embed quality into every stage of the lifecycle, building and maintaining AI-driven testing standards for mission-critical intelligent applications that redefine customer interaction.

Responsibilities include designing automation frameworks in Java and Python, API and database testing, and collaborating with product managers and developers to ensure robust test coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 0–1 years of professional experience in QA/QE.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation scripts in Java and Python.
• Familiarity with STLC and Agile/Scrum.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered applications (AI/ML).
• Experience with Hybrid Automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts/tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions).
• Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Docker.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Perform API testing and validate endpoints using Postman or Rest Assured.
• Conduct database testing with SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
• Own quality for features; create test cases and execute functional/integration/regression suites.
• Track testing progress using JIRA/ADO/ALM and report defects.
• Execute AI/ML testing activities including chatbot testing for intent, flow, and accuracy.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate test script development and data generation.
• Ensure AI reliability, fairness, and model robustness.
