Job summary

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology in Harrisburg, PA, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in ISEM with a specialization in supply chain operations and/or manufacturing. The successful candidate will teach at the master's and PhD levels and integrate AI/ML and LLMs with operations to solve real engineering problems.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD (or equivalent), with strong industry or corporate experience, and an active research agenda.

Qualifications

PhD or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering, or a closely related engineering or management discipline (required).
Strong background in supply chain operations/logistics and/or additive manufacturing, gained through industry practice, applied research, or both (required).
Demonstrated experience applying AI/ML — including LLMs and agentic AI — to supply chain or manufacturing problems, evidenced by deployed solutions, applied research, patents, or publications (required).
Demonstrated readiness to design and teach foundational and advanced applied AI/ML courses, in addition to supply chain and/or manufacturing courses (required).
Teaching experience at the graduate and/or doctoral level is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and teach curricula that integrate theoretical AI/ML concepts with current industry developments.
Mentor graduate students and guide research projects across master's and PhD levels.
Collaborate with industry partners to drive applied AI in supply chain and manufacturing projects.
Advance a research agenda with publications and grant activity.
