Job summary

CSC is seeking a Product Development Owner to lead a product area from Buffalo Grove, IL, with hybrid remote options. You will shape concepts, own roadmaps, and drive AI-enabled automation to reduce manual data prep and validation for tax professionals.

The role blends product strategy, analytics, and collaboration with engineering in an agile setting. You will define success metrics, work across go-to-market teams, and ensure delivery of client-focused outcomes while maintaining a strong

Qualifications

5+ years of recent product ownership or product management experience, or tax and accounting experience with direct involvement in software delivery.
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
Hands‑on use of AI tools in daily work, with concrete examples of a manual, repetitive process you automated or eliminated and the measured result
Ability to break a complex workflow into discrete steps, identify which steps can be automated or validated by rules, and write requirements for them
Experience taking a new product, feature, or concept from idea to adoption, or rethinking an existing area, with requirements that changed as evidence came in
Working knowledge of AI limitations (accuracy, hallucination, data privacy) and judgment on when human review is required
Working knowledge of agile methodologies and backlog tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or Linear
Comfort working with data: Excel, basic SQL, and product analytics tools
Effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences, including clients and executives
Demonstrated ability to prioritise, manage time, and deliver on commitments, and to make the call to cut, pivot, or stop work when the evidence says so

Responsibilities

Own outcomes for your product area: Maintain a Now/Next/Later roadmap tied to system year and PI goals.
Shape new concepts and rethink existing areas: Take new products, features, and concepts from idea to adoption, and rebuild existing areas when the current approach no longer serves clients.
Eliminate manual preparation and validation work: Map how clients prepare, reconcile, and validate data today and design automation or AI-assisted workflows to remove them.
Apply AI responsibly in the product: Define guardrails for accuracy, auditability, explainability, data security, and human review points.
Use AI to work more efficiently: Draft and refine features, user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and release notes.
Run the backlog in an agile framework: Write backlog items with clear acceptance criteria in Azure DevOps or Linear.
Make insight‑driven decisions: Use product analytics, client research, and support trends to prioritise.
Own the client experience end to end: Align with escalation owner to triage client issues and ensure fixes meet UX standards.
Drive awareness and adoption with go‑to‑market: Collaborate with GTM and Marketing teams from concept through launch.
Communicate with clarity: Present roadmap, progress, and risks to clients, sales, and executives.
