Job summary

Hirewell is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join the Platform & Infrastructure team in Chicago. The role focuses on IaC, CI/CD, cloud automation, and AI-driven capabilities that scale software delivery securely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will work with Terraform, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Azure, and emerging agentic AI technologies to automate patterns and guardrails for production environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and operating cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on Terraform experience with reusable modules.
• Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
• Strong Git proficiency and modern software workflows.
• Scripting in Python, PowerShell or Bash.
• Knowledge of Azure IaaS/PaaS, cloud networking, identity, secrets management.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Terraform modules for scalable infra.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Implement agentic AI automation and guardrails in production.
• Enhance logging, monitoring, and observability with AI tooling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote AI and automation adoption.
• Apply security and governance across automation lifecycles.
• Create documentation, runbooks, and reusable engineering patterns.
• Stay current with AI, agentic automation, DevOps, and cloud infra.
