Vylor Inc. in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral scientist to advance AI-enabled plant breeding through multimodal phenomics and predictive modeling.

You will develop novel phenomic features from RGB, LiDAR, hyperspectral data and genomic information to improve corn yield predictions and breeding outcomes. You will design scalable analysis pipelines, collaborate with breeders and data scientists, publish results, and help translate research into production-ready tools.

Competenze

• Experience developing ML/AI models for prediction or representation learning.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, Hugging Face ecosystems.
• Experience with yield/genomic/phenotype prediction frameworks.
• Experience extracting plant traits from multimodal sensor data.
• Background in genetics, plant breeding, crop science, or agricultural AI applications.

• Collaborate on multimodal AI-driven prediction of corn yield and breeding outcomes using large phenotyping datasets.
• Develop and evaluate phenomic features from RGB, LiDAR, hyperspectral, multispectral, and genomic data.
• Design and train multimodal models, transformers, and foundation models for agricultural prediction tasks.
• Characterize latent phenotypes and their utility for breeding and environment analyses.
• Build scalable data pipelines for long-term phenotyping datasets across locations and years.
• Collaborate with breeders, data scientists, software engineers, and sensor teams to translate research into breeding apps.
• Quantify model performance and communicate results to technical and business stakeholders.
• Publish findings, contribute to IP, and advance AI-enabled phenomics at Vylor.
