Job summary

Broadcom's ANS Division invites an experienced ICB5 Staff Engineer to join the Network Detection and Research Team. You will lead research into emerging threats, build AI-enabled detection solutions for large-scale data centers, and translate threat intel into high-fidelity signatures for our vDefend ATP solution.

Based in the US, you will collaborate with a global team across Palo Alto, London and Europe, contributing to a data-driven security platform that protects virtual workloads and cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with 12+ years experience, or MS with 10+ years, or PhD with 7+ years.
• Strong experience in network security and IDS concepts.
• Experience developing IDS signatures.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Willingness to work with AI tools and agentic AI systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct deep-dive research into emerging network threats to keep IDPS capabilities ahead of adversaries.
• Architect and build AI-enabled security solutions for protecting virtual workloads in large-scale data centers.
• Analyze malicious traffic to design, prototype, and implement robust detection approaches and high-performance IDPS signatures.
• Construct and maintain scalable data collection infrastructures with automated feedback and data enrichment.
• Translate threat intelligence into actionable, high-fidelity detection logic and signatures.
