Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. seeks a Modem Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize real-time embedded modem software for MPSS, writing performant C/C++ on DSP and Arm cores across protocol layers, drivers, and RTOS components.

Beyond traditional embedded work, this AI-native role requires building AI-assisted tooling, using code-generation agents and LLM reviews to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, CS, or EE and related field.
• Strong data-structures and algorithms knowledge for constrained systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++ (C++17+) and RTOS concepts.
• Experience debugging on target hardware with JTAG and traces.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize real-time embedded modem software across protocol layers, drivers, and platform services.
• Apply data-structure and algorithm design to build efficient firmware components.
• Own end-to-end feature delivery: requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, bring-up, maintenance.
• Pioneer AI-native development practices, integrating AI agents into workflows and code reviews.
• Build and maintain AI-assisted tooling for code review, static analysis, and test synthesis.
• Debug and root-cause complex issues on target hardware using AI-assisted log analysis.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, test and integration teams for production-quality firmware.
• Mentor peers on embedded fundamentals and AI-native engineering techniques.
