Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Legal Engagement Manager to serve as the primary contact for post-train and evaluate projects in the legal tech space. You will translate legal practice into evaluative rubrics and collaborate with Mercor's lawyers to produce training data.

You will lead commercial processes, define high-quality legal work, and coordinate with customers, product, and research teams to drive growth in the legal market.

Qualifications

• JD required; bar admission and in-house or law-firm experience preferred.
• 4+ years of total work experience in legal/tech/consulting for legal clients.
• Track record in client-facing roles and building relationships.
• Strong interest in how AI is changing legal work; familiarity with LLMs or legal tech is a plus.
• Comfort working with ML and engineering stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the precision of a practicing lawyer.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of legal tech companies and law firms from first meeting through delivery and expansion.
• Lead commercial processes for new and existing business including scoping, pricing, and contracting.
• Design evaluations and post-training data for legal tasks such as contract review, legal research, drafting, and litigation support.
• Translate legal practice into rubrics and task specs that models can be trained and measured against.
• Recruit and calibrate lawyer experts on Mercor's platform and track quality and timelines.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer questions and escalations and drive resolution.
• Forecast revenue and surface opportunities for account growth.
