Job summary

Google is seeking a Manager of the Learning Innovation and Architecture (LIA) team within Global Business Organization Education's (GBOedu) R&D Lab and central COE. You will lead a team shaping the future of AI-enabled learning and define learner journeys powering personalized learning.

You will collaborate with Go-to-Market Operations to ensure ads business success, align stakeholders, and translate needs into executable technical roadmaps with measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in business strategy, learning and development, product/sales operations, management consulting, investment banking, or corporate advisory, or 6 years of experience with an advanced degree.
• 4 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.
• Experience in people management or directly managing teams.
• Master's degree or MBA.
• 2 years of experience creating complex data sets, data modeling, and reporting.
• 2 years of experience in advertising, consultative sales, business development, or digital media environments.
• Experience authoring comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and operational workflows to translate business or programmatic needs into clear, actionable technical requirements for engineering and product teams.
• Experience driving change management initiatives, scoping technical systems, and managing cross-functional stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Architect the AI-driven roadmap for emerging learning trends, scan the market, launch rapid learner-centric pilots, and collaborate with vendors and engineers to evaluate scalability and transition proven innovations into sustainable global operational standards.
• Drive content management, maintenance, and discovery strategies, including universal tagging taxonomies and global metadata standards, to ensure seamless content discoverability and delivery via learning platforms and recommendation engines.
• Establish the holistic proficiency measurement framework, badging, and accreditation ecosystem for GBO, developing scalable strategies to link learner proficiency, consumption, and performance outcomes directly to business outcomes.
• Serve as the unified point of contact and strategy liaison between learning teams and technical/engineering teams, translating complex operational and programmatic needs into clear Business Scoping Documents and technical roadmaps.
• Organize alignment working sessions, hold transparent communications, and design initiatives that proactively support team morale, psychological safety, and a collaborative, uplifting culture amidst broader organizational shifts.
