Job summary

Notion is seeking a strategic and technically fluent Lead, IT Audit to join our Finance team reporting to the Head of Internal Audit. This role spans IT SOX and operational IT audits, owning the IT SOX lifecycle, designing controls, embedding AI into testing, and delivering value‑added audits across cloud infrastructure and data flows.

This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City, offering in-person collaboration on Anchor Days and close work with Engineering, Security, IT,

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive IT audit, IT SOX, or technology risk experience.
• Deep ownership of IT SOX/ITGC programs with knowledge of PCAOB, SEC, COSO/COBIT/NIST/ITIL.
• Experience designing and leading end-to-end operational IT audits across IT ops, infrastructure, DR/BC, and vendor risk.
• Strong cybersecurity audit experience with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and CCPA.
• Software or SaaS industry experience with cloud stacks (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Own the full IT SOX lifecycle — scoping, risk assessment, documentation, walkthroughs, testing, remediation, and reporting.
• Design, operate, and improve technology controls spanning access, change management, SDLC, and data flows.
• Execute value-added IT and cybersecurity audits across cloud infra, security ops, identity/access, data privacy, DR, and vendor risk.
• Serve as strategic advisor on cross-functional initiatives and as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Own IT control deficiencies from detection to sustained remediation with ownership culture building.
• Champion adoption of AI and modern tooling for automated testing and documentation.
