Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Internal Communications Manager to advise senior leaders, lead change communications, and foster a connected culture across divisions and locations. The role focuses on messaging, leadership engagement, and a scalable intranet strategy.

On-site in Hawthorne, CA or the Bay Area; travel <10%. The compensation package includes stock options, 401(k), comprehensive medical coverage, and generous paid time off.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in business/organizational communications
• Experience in internal communications (preferred)
• 10+ years in communications or public relations (preferred)
• Experience supporting change management
• Proficient with AI tools to draft, produce, or scale communications
• Experience building employee communications across multiple divisions/locations
• Ability to synthesize complex issues quickly
• Strong strategic, analytical, and negotiation skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects under deadlines
• Self-starter with ownership and initiative

Responsibilities

• Advise senior executives on communications gaps and opportunities; translate into plans to inform, align, and engage employees
• Lead change communications for company-wide and cross-division initiatives
• Build a connected, unified culture across divisions, locations, and new teams
• Develop and lead leadership speaking programs (live, filmed, and other formats)
• Set communications strategy and standards for tools and channels
• Own and scale the intranet; establish style guides, templates, and practices
• Manage internal communications in crises
• Shape key internal announcements and narratives
• Use AI to scale communications, improve quality, and increase impact
• Ensure consistency between internal and external messages
• Define how to measure communications and change efforts and adjust accordingly
