Job summary

East West Bank seeks an experienced risk professional to design, execute, and enhance its Independent Testing program, focusing on risk-based coverage, outcome-based testing, and continuous monitoring. The role emphasizes identifying emerging risk themes, driving credible challenge, and translating results into governance-ready materials.

The ideal candidate will leverage AI, automation, and data-driven workflows to improve population analysis, testing quality, and management reporting.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in independent testing, risk management, internal audit, operational risk, control testing, monitoring, or validation within banking/financial services.
• Knowledge of banking operations, products, services, and risk/control gaps across Loan Operations, Commercial Banking, Retail Banking, BSA/AML/OFAC, and digital banking.
• Strong knowledge of risk-based and outcome-based testing, control design, sampling, evidence evaluation, and governance reporting.
• Experience maintaining testable populations, annual test plans, coverage mapping, monitoring dashboards, and issue management.
• Ability to write clear, evidence-based reports and board materials with credible challenge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously enhance the Independent Testing program with risk-based coverage and ongoing monitoring.
• Maintain test populations, annual plans, and coverage mapping based on risk and regulatory change.
• Design testing procedures with defined outcomes, criteria, populations, and evidence requirements.
• Assess results to identify gaps in control design, operating effectiveness, or data quality.
• Develop dashboards, indicators, thresholds, and follow-up protocols for emerging risks.
• Provide supervisory review and credible challenge over planning, fieldwork, sampling, and reporting.
• Manage validation of issues, control enhancements, and remediation outcomes.
• Apply AI, automation, and data analytics to improve population analysis and testing quality.
• Coordinate with First/Second Line, Internal Audit, Compliance, and ERM to support governance.
• Translate insights into management reporting on root causes, risk exposure, and remediation status.
