Job summary

Amazon Ads is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for FAIM Finance to own the operating plan, monthly actuals, and forecast for a GPU/inference-heavy cost structure. You will build driver-based models linking product usage to revenue and cost to serve, partnering with product, engineering, and BI teams to explain variances and drive strategic decisions.

You will work with senior leaders to craft investment cases for compute, headcount, and new product bets, and lead automation of finance

Qualifications

• 3+ years in finance, FP&A, or related analytical field with a bachelor’s in finance, accounting, economics, business, or related field.
• Strong financial modeling: driver-based forecasts and scenario analysis.
• Experience building financial/operational reports with KPIs.
• Proficient in SQL and advanced Excel; able to pull data independently.
• Clear written and verbal communication to senior leaders.
• Experience in advertising, software, or cloud infra finance is a plus.
• Python or equivalent for analysis; familiarity with QuickSight or similar tools.
• Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Own FAIM operating plan, forecast cycles (OP1/OP2), quarterly forecasts, and monthly actuals with variance analysis across revenue, headcount, and infra spend.
• Lead monthly close analysis: explain variances, identify root causes, state implications, and drive actions.
• Partner with product and engineering to evaluate economics of new products, pricing, and infrastructure decisions.
• Build models behind investment decisions (compute capacity, headcount, pricing) and write financial sections of leadership documents.
• Coordinate business review mechanisms with accurate reporting and clear recommendations.
• Collaborate with BI/data teams to ensure finance data platform answers P&L questions.
• Lead automation of finance processes and AI-enabled tooling to reduce manual work.
• Uphold strong financial controllership with accruals, cost allocation, and SOPs.
