Job summary

Akoncagua AI builds domain-specialized AI and automation systems for technically demanding industries. We are seeking a Full-Stack Engineer Intern to help build secure, scalable, and intuitive enterprise applications that connect AI agents with accounting and financial workflows.

You will work across frontend and backend components to deliver polished, accessible interfaces, robust APIs, and durable workflows that integrate with major ERP/accounting platforms.

Qualifications

• Backend development experience with Python, Go, Node.js, Rust or comparable production server framework; Spring boot preferred.
• API design including REST, GraphQL, gRPC; relational data modeling, SQL, PostgreSQL and performance optimization.
• Secure, multi-tenant SaaS design and operations are required.
• Experience building workflow-driven products with approvals and long-running processes.
• Event-driven architecture, background jobs, message queues and retries are essential.
• Integrating with enterprise APIs including authentication, rate limits, pagination and monitoring.
• Cloud infrastructure experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability and incident response.
• Strong authentication/authorization concepts: SSO, MFA, RBAC, encryption, audit logging and web security.
• Automated unit/integration/contract/e2e testing.
• Polished, accessible UI for complex enterprise workflows.
• Translate ambiguous requirements into maintainable architecture and incremental releases.
• Strong debugging, profiling, and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build intuitive workspaces for invoice review, exception management, accounting classification, project and cost-code validation, approval routing, reconciliation, and financial close.
• Create evidence-centered interfaces to inspect source documents, extracted fields, policy language, model reasoning, confidence, approvals, and transaction history.
• Design human-in-the-loop experiences that present meaningful exceptions and actionable decisions.
• Build secure admin interfaces for policies, charts of accounts, vendors, projects, approvals, roles, and integrations.
• Develop frontend using React/Next.js/TypeScript with modern state-management and accessible components.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Python, Go or equivalent frameworks.
• Model domain objects for invoices, documents, vendors, projects, contracts, and journal workflow events.
• Build deterministic services for journal entries, currency validation, and idempotent posting.
• Create durable workflows for long-running processes: document intake, AI analysis, approvals, reminders, posting, and reconciliation.
• Integrate platform with accounting systems, ERPs, banks, document stores, identity providers, and payment partners.
• Develop reliable integrations with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, SAP and related systems.
• Build typed APIs and tool interfaces for safe AI agent data querying and actions.
• Implement immutable audit histories with source evidence, proposals, actions, and external responses.
• Enterprise authorization using SSO, MFA, RBAC, and data segregation controls.
• Design secure multi-tenant architecture with data isolation, encryption, and retention policies.
• Develop document-upload/evidence viewing for PDFs/images/invoices/contracts.
• Implement real-time workflow updates, notifications, task assignments, and dashboards.
• Ensure consistency across long-running workflows with transactions, idempotency keys, and replay.
