Job summary

Steelhead Technologies Inc is hiring a Software Engineer to work on the ERP system used by metal finishing and fabrication shops. You’ll own features, collaborating with a five-person engineering team in a face-to-face environment.

The stack is React, Node.js, TypeScript, Postgres, and GraphQL. Based in Calumet, Michigan, you’ll influence architecture, testing, deployment, and AI across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 0-3 years of post-graduation development experience.
• SQL and data model design.
• AI-native development experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Action-oriented and self-directed.
• Focused on making great product experiences.
• Development experience with React.js or a similar web app framework.
• GraphQL experience is a plus.
• Experience with AI looping is a plus.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, and DataDog is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collect requirements from multiple sources and lead development of large features
• AI-native development using Claude Code or Cursor
• Work with tech leads on architecture and data model design
• Direct the development of large efforts through loops and multiple agents
• Develop test plans for your feature and thoroughly test different workflows
• Collaborate with QA to work through testing feedback
• Collect feedback through operational logs and product metrics
