Job summary

FloQast is seeking an engineering leader to guide a highly technical team building the next generation of AI-powered accounting automation. You will mentor senior engineers, unblock complex problems, and drive architecture decisions across distributed services and data pipelines.

The role focuses on engineering rigor, product quality, and AI-enabled workflows, with hands-on coding and system design responsibilities. Hybrid work is expected in San Jose or Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Experience operating large-scale SaaS platforms.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and data models.
• Comfortable debugging production systems.
• Mentor tech leads and grow senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a highly technical team of engineers and tech leads.
• Build and scale backend systems for a large SaaS platform.
• Develop AI-powered product capabilities and workflows.
• Drive AI-first development and adopt AI tooling at scale.
• Participate in architecture reviews and major code reviews.
• Mentor engineers and remove technical blockers.
