Job summary

IBM's Electronic Design Automation (EDA) team in Austin seeks early-career engineers passionate about software, AI, and semiconductor design. You will contribute to tools supporting IBM's processors and computing systems, covering logic design, verification, synthesis, routing, and timing analysis.

You will work on AI-driven automation, tool development, and algorithm engineering, collaborating with hardware and software teams to shape IBM's AI-enabled design workflows.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C++, Java, Rust, or similar.
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and digital logic design.
• Coursework or project experience with AI or Agent Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to develop efficient algorithms and software solutions.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in collaborative, fast-paced engineering environments.
• Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy tools used across IBM's processor and computing systems.
