Job summary

Cagayan State University is seeking a student intern to assist with deploying AI-enabled systems, data analytics, and shop floor solutions across operations, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams.

You will contribute to AI-assisted work instructions, vision-based inspection, and digital twin initiatives while training models and supporting edge deployments on production systems.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Digital/Information Technology with a graduation date on or after May 2028.
• Availability to work 20 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours during winter/summer breaks.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Completed at least Sophomore year coursework or equivalent.
• Programming experience in Python, JavaScript, C#, Java; SQL knowledge from coursework or hands-on projects.
• Experience with Linux/Unix command line and Git version control.
• Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Databricks, Jupyter, or Power BI.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and firewall rules.
• Exposure to data integration or contextualization platforms like HighByte or Kepware.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLCs, or industrial robot automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Support deployment and integration of AI-enabled systems, data analytics platforms, and shop floor solutions for operations, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams.
• Contribute to manufacturing analytics projects including AI-assisted work instructions, image inspection, and digital twin initiatives.
• Perform model training, edge deployment, system integration, and troubleshoot production environments using SQL and SCADA/MQTT systems.
• Work with OT equipment including PLCs, HMIs, and robots to implement backup and version control.
• Balance desk work with hands-on shop floor activities including equipment installation, testing integrations, and resolving production issues.
• Collaborate within a team to understand requirements and support end users effectively.
• Other duties as assigned.
