Job summary

KLA in Milpitas, CA is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to join the Diagnostics & Calibration team. You will design, develop, and deliver software that diagnoses and calibrates KLA's reticle inspection platforms, with an emphasis on AI/ML tools and rapid prototyping.

Responsibilities include building multi-language software, translating requirements into designs, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Physical Science, Electrical/Electronics Eng, Optics, Microscopy, or related field.
• 4+ years of software development experience in multi-developer environments.
• Proficiency with object-oriented design and experience with Python, C++, or C#.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for AI/ML and generative AI with hands-on toolbuilding.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration abilities across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain LabVIEW-based and multi-language software for diagnosing and calibrating KLA's reticle inspection platforms.
• Learn the existing diagnostics and calibration software architecture and contribute clean, maintainable code.
• Translate system-level and user requirements into software designs, implementations, and test plans.
• Explore and apply AI/ML and generative-AI techniques to build applications and internal tools.
• Rapidly prototype AI-driven proofs-of-concept, evaluate feasibility, and mature ideas into production-ready tools.
• Improve software reliability, maintainability, performance, and scalability through sound design and refactoring.
• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and workflows for diagnostics & calibration software.
• Participate in design and code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Travel up to ~10% to support integration and deployment activities.
