Job summary

Clay is seeking a Data Science Manager to lead the Data Science and Analytics team, guiding experimentation, metric design, and data storytelling across the company. You will partner with executives to translate ideas into measurable outcomes, set standards, and grow a high-impact team with a focus on AI-native data solutions.

You will drive cross-functional collaboration, own staffing, and ensure the team delivers data-informed decisions that shape Clay's product and business trajectory.

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing data scientists and/or analytics engineers; 6+ years in data science or analytics with impact on product decisions.
• Strong depth in experimentation, analytics, statistics, data modeling, and metric design.
• Expertise in product or growth data science with understanding of user funnels in B2B/B2C products.
• Skilled at stakeholder management with senior leaders across product, GTM, and finance.
• Proven ability to influence product roadmaps via data and insights and connect data work to business outcomes.
• Excellent data storytelling skills and empathetic communication for diverse audiences.
• Experience growing teams: hiring, coaching, and developing senior ICs; excited about AI-native ways of working.
• Nice to have experience with Snowflake, GitHub, dbt, Hex, Sigma, Dagster; product-led growth or usage-based pricing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Data Science and Analytics team (DSA) as the center of excellence for experimentation, metrics, and data-driven decision-making.
• Partner with executives to set product and business strategy and craft the internal narrative with data.
• Set standards for data work, coach team members, and establish rituals for cohesion and growth.
• Recruit, interview, and onboard top talent; staff across partner areas to maximize impact.
• Ensure instrumentation and monitoring of key metrics and that data informs strategic priorities.
• Shape product and business strategy by identifying opportunities through analysis and insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align goals, provide tooling and insights, and push back when needed.
