Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Compliance, Threat & Risk Assessment Manager to lead enterprise-wide risk assessments and translate regulatory risks into actionable insights for senior leaders. You will partner with MLROs, CCOs, and cross-functional teams to deliver globally coordinated risk outcomes.

The role requires deep AML/CFT and sanctions expertise, experience in incentive-based governance materials, and a drive to scale workflows using AI while ensuring strong human oversight.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in compliance, financial crimes, or operational risk assessment within a regulated financial institution, fintech, or consulting firm.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale risk assessments and influencing senior stakeholders in ambiguous environments.
• Deep expertise in AML/CFT, sanctions, transaction monitoring, customer risk scoring, geographic risk assessment, and risk management frameworks.
• Experience designing threat assessment frameworks and leading geographic risk reviews across multi-entity or multi-jurisdictional environments.
• Proven ability to produce executive-quality written communications, data analysis, and governance materials; proficiency in Excel, SQL, and AI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise-wide compliance risk assessments, including inherent risk identification, control evaluation, residual risk determination, and articulation of key findings.
• Partner with MLROs, CCOs, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver coordinated risk assessment outcomes.
• Produce risk assessment reports, executive summaries, and governance materials for senior leadership and regulatory audiences.
• Drive transaction monitoring and customer risk scoring coverage assessments and lead geographic risk rating updates.
• Develop a compliance threat assessment framework including governance, methodology, and documentation standards.
• Pioneer AI-powered automation to scale assessment workflows with human oversight.
