Job summary

Lightspeed Systems in Austin, TX is hiring a Software Engineer who uses AI tooling to ship cloud-based services. This hands-on role focuses on building scalable APIs, services, and integrations while maintaining quality and security.

You will work in a hybrid setup in South Austin, collaborate across teams, and continuously improve performance and observability. The ideal candidate has 3–6 years shipping production software and experience with RESTful APIs, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience shipping production software.
• Experience building or contributing to cloud-based applications (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar).
• Understanding of service-based or microservices architectures.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL).
• Experience with Docker (or similar), CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable services in a cloud environment.
• Contribute to architecture decisions with guidance from senior engineers.
• Build and maintain APIs and service integrations.
• Use AI agents to assist with coding, testing, refactoring, and debugging.
• Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness and maintainability.
• Improve performance, reliability, and observability of existing systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Continuously evaluate and improve your AI-assisted development workflow.
