Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a senior test automation architect to own the Cortex Cloud test strategy, build scalable frameworks, and automate complex multi-cloud environments. You will lead CI/CD quality gates, perform cloud-scale testing, and troubleshoot high‑impact failures.

You will design AI-driven testing tools and mentor engineers while shaping the overall validation strategy for enterprise cybersecurity systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with at least 6 years in test automation or quality engineering for large-scale distributed systems or SaaS
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Java with production-grade code
• Proven track record architecting and building test automation frameworks
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and practices including pipeline design and environment provisioning
• Cloud knowledge across GCP, AWS, Azure: compute, networking, IAM, storage, security
• Experience with containers/orchestration and IaC (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm)
• Experience with system, integration, end-to-end, performance, and scale testing of microservices and data pipelines
• Domain expertise across enterprise cybersecurity systems for quality and validation strategy
• Excellent troubleshooting across full stack using observability tools
• Ability to learn fast in ambiguous environments
• Strong communication and influence without direct authority
• BS/MS in CS/Engineering; Big plus AI agent / LLM-powered apps experience
• Experience with AI/ML in engineering workflows and LLM-based product features
• Experience testing AI/LLM-based product features and evaluation frameworks

Responsibilities

• Own the test architecture and define the automation strategy for Cortex Cloud services
• Build world-class test frameworks and tooling in Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript
• Automate complex multi-cloud integration environments and data pipelines
• Integrate quality gates and test orchestration into CI/CD pipelines
• Lead cloud-scale, system, and chaos testing for high-throughput services
• Troubleshoot complex test and production-like failures across services and clouds
• Design and build AI agents and LLM-powered tools for test generation and analysis
• Mentor engineers and drive best practices in QA, DevOps, and engineering teams
• Define and improve quality metrics and release quality through data insights
