Job summary

Rivian is seeking an Application Integration Engineer to design, build, and scale its next-generation integration ecosystem. You will bridge traditional middleware with AI-driven patterns, using AWS, Kafka, and iPaaS platforms to deliver robust integration solutions.

You will implement both synchronous and asynchronous patterns, leverage IaC for cloud deployment, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive product-focused outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in integration projects involving SaaS and on-premise apps.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, Glue, EKS, API Gateway).
• Knowledge of middleware platforms like Boomi, MuleSoft, or Workato.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Understanding of Microservices, API design, ETL, and Web Services.
• Knowledge of REST, SFTP, SMTP protocols.
• Familiarity with Generative AI concepts and integrating LLMs via APIs.
• Experience with Airflow or AWS Step Functions for orchestration.
• Experience with GitLab version control and branching in controlled environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement asynchronous and synchronous integration patterns (Request/Response, Pub/Sub, Event Streaming) using AWS architecture.
• Develop and test integrations with AWS services, Kafka, and iPaaS platforms (Bo​omi, MuleSoft, Workato).
• Build, deploy and monitor AWS resources (EC2, Lambda, EKS, S3) using IaC like CloudFormation, Terraform, Terragrunt.
• Learn and apply Generative AI technologies, transitioning from traditional middleware to AI-driven integration patterns.
• Collaborate with business to define requirements and deliver technical solutions with a product-first mindset.
