Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering, minimum 1 year of formal people management experience OR 2+ years of technical leadership with mentoring responsibilities
• Demonstrable experience delivering complex software projects using Agile methodologies
• Proven recent technical skills with strategic contributions to production systems
• Code review leadership with experience establishing review standards and culture
• Demonstrated ability to balance technical excellence with business delivery requirements

Responsibilities

• Delivery Management: Scope, prioritise, and deliver on time with clear alignment to OKRs
• Drive velocity, predictability, and quality through agile practices and continuous improvement
• Communicate proactively with stakeholders on progress, risks, and dependencies
• Balance workload, staffing, and hiring needs to maintain sustainable delivery
• Manage resources and remove impediments to empower the team
• Technical Leadership & Contribution: Provide architectural guidance and selective hands-on contributions
• Define technical decisions and maintain system health through governance
• Establish quality culture with TDD/BDD, automated gates, and code reviews
• Define security standards and drive security-first culture
• Delegate technical execution while ensuring oversight
• AI strategy definition and responsible AI practices
• Documentation strategy and knowledge management
• People Management: Line manage engineers, coaching, performance reviews, and career planning
• Create inclusive environment and develop team members
• Handle performance management and succession planning
• Foster collaboration and cross-functional alignment
• Lead growth through structured development plans
