Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a researcher to develop computational geometry and mechanics algorithms that operate directly on CAD models to support design evaluation and optimization.

We will explore AI-assisted generative design workflows blending data-driven methods with physics and geometry-aware reasoning, and build CAD-integrated solutions within Siemens NX to enable pushbutton analysis and design exploration.

Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math, Computer Graphics or related field.
• MS in same fields with 2+ years equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop computational geometry and mechanics algorithms that reason on CAD models for design evaluation and optimization.
• Prototype AI-assisted generative design workflows combining data-driven methods with physics and geometry reasoning.
• Build CAD-integrated solutions within Siemens NX for pushbutton analysis and design exploration.
• Balance learning-based approaches with deterministic evaluation for explainable, repeatable results.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Product Engineering and IT to transition concepts into scalable tools.
• Communicate research outcomes through reports, demos and leadership presentations.
