Job summary

OnePay is seeking an Analytics Engineer to own the analytics foundation, including dbt models, testing, and Databricks BI, enabling fast, trusted data for the business.

You’ll design models, metrics, and documentation for both humans and AI agents, using tools like Claude Code and Cursor daily, collaborating with data teams, and driving iterative data products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in analytics engineering or equivalent; production models ownership end-to-end.
• Expert SQL and deep dbt experience (architecture, incremental models, tests, macros, CI/CD).
• Strong Databricks BI or equivalent semantic layer delivery.
• AI-savvy in practice: uses AI coding tools daily and validates outputs.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity with startup pace and bias toward shipping.
• Clear communicator across technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production dbt models on Databricks that serve as truth source.
• Support external reporting with governed data trusted by stakeholders.
• Own data quality: testing, CI/CD, documentation, and patterns.
• Build and evolve Databricks dashboards and semantic metrics for self-service.
• Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and stakeholders to turn problems into data products.
• Drive AI-native workflows: Cursor/Claude used daily; design for LLM consumers.
