Job summary

EY seeks a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to own end-to-end delivery of AI-enabled systems for a single client in regulated industries. You’ll embed with the client, dive into code and data, and guide a small cell to produce secure, production-grade outcomes under real constraints.

As technical authority, you’ll balance business goals with technical tradeoffs, manage stakeholders, and uphold safety and cost constraints while delivering measurable value across complex engagements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years delivering complex enterprise systems in regulated/client-facing contexts.
• Hands-on engineering depth across integration-heavy architectures, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.
• Experience with AI-enabled application stacks (agentic systems, orchestration frameworks).
• Proven ability to lead a small technical team while remaining an individual contributor.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end outcome delivery for the cell, including scoping, tradeoffs, technical direction, and production readiness.
• Embed directly with the client to define the real problem and translate needs into executable solutions.
• Serve as the primary technical interface to client stakeholders, managing expectations and trust.
• Stay hands-on, designing and building critical parts of the solution as needed.
• Deploy, adapt, and stabilize solutions in the client environment with production readiness.
• Direct the work of the cell’s engineers, ensuring integrations and data readiness.
• Ensure deployments meet safety, integrity, and cost constraints with regulators.
