Job summary

Schroeder & Tremayne, Inc. in the United States seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee AP/AR, month-end close, and financial reporting.

You’ll drive automation, AI, and process improvements while partnering with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Executive Management to strengthen controls and cash flow. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in accounting, manufacturing or distribution experience, and proficiency with ERP systems and BI reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Manufacturing or distribution accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with major retail/Ecommerce customers, deductions, and chargebacks preferred.
• Experience implementing accounting automation tools.
• Power BI or other reporting software experience preferred.
• Experience with fixed assets and cash management preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Aptean Apprise, Sage Fixed Assets, Ramp).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing.
• Oversee customer invoicing and ensure timely and accurate billing; monitor AR aging and collections.
• Prepare and post journal entries; assist monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet account reconciliations; audit-ready documentation.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules; reconcile assets to GL.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and manage cash transactions; coordinate banking transfers.
• Support internal controls, audits, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
• Lead automation initiatives in accounting processes using AI, OCR, workflows, and ERP enhancements.
• Develop dashboards and KPI reporting for management.
