Job summary

TypeSafe AI, based in San Francisco, seeks a Community & Developer Relations lead to build and run the community around Jev, engaging developers from onboarding to ongoing participation. You’ll own member experience, run hackathons, and design programs that scale with a fast-moving startup.

Collaboration with founders, engineers, and DevRel is essential. You’ll craft workflows, automate where possible, and turn feedback into actionable improvements, helping shape the future of TypeSafe AI’s

Qualifications

• :Have built or scaled community programs, developer communities, or operations at a fast-moving startup.
• :Can design a program and handle the details yourself, from recruiting participants to answering questions and making sure an event runs smoothly
• :Bring strong operational judgment and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple moving pieces and follow through
• :Write clearly and communicate with warmth, responsiveness, and good judgment, especially when handling feedback or difficult conversations
• :Are comfortable with community and operations tools automation, and know when to simplify rather than add process
• :Are curious about AI and technically fluent enough to understand what developers are building, recognize where they're stuck, and connect them with the right help
• :Care about developers and people and understands their desires
• :Reason through process strategically before making a decision
• :Show complete ownership, spot gaps without waiting for instructions, and care deeply about our mission

Responsibilities

• Run our community channels and welcome new members
• Spark useful conversations and establish clear guidelines
• Build programs for the most engaged developers
• Develop relationships with organizers and partners
• Own hackathons, meetups, and community events from planning to follow-up
• Build tools, docs, and automations behind onboarding and support
• Surface product feedback and use cases to the technical team
• Track participation and retention to drive improvements
