Job summary

You.com seeks a leader to own and execute the developer community strategy across San Francisco and New York City. You will cultivate relationships with AI engineers, startups, researchers, and academic groups, shaping programs that engage technical audiences and drive API adoption.

Collaborate with DevRel, Product, and Marketing to create hands-on experiences using You.com APIs, coordinate events, and grow a scalable community ecosystem with measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Experience building or managing a developer, technical, startup, or AI community.
• Strong existing relationships within the AI and developer ecosystem, particularly in San Francisco and/or New York.
• Ability to create events and programs that technical audiences repeatedly participate in.
• Understanding of how developers discover, evaluate, adopt, and advocate for developer tools and APIs.
• Credible conversations with engineers about APIs, AI agents, LLMs, developer infrastructure, and modern AI app development.

Responsibilities

• Own You.com's developer community strategy and programming in San Francisco and New York City.
• Build relationships with AI engineers, founders, researchers, technical leaders, developer groups, startups, universities, and other ecosystem members.
• Develop recurring meetups, technical workshops, hackathons, builder dinners, office hours, and other community programming.
• Turn You.com's SF and NYC hubs into destinations for the AI builder community.
• Partner with DevRel and Product to create hands-on experiences using You.com's APIs.
• Identify and cultivate community champions and power users as advocates, contributors, speakers, and partners.
• Build relationships with developer platforms, AI communities, accelerators, open-source projects, and ecosystem partners.
• Maintain an authentic presence on X, LinkedIn, GitHub, Discord, Hacker News, and emerging communities.
• Create feedback loops with Product and Engineering around questions, friction points, use cases, and opportunities.
• Partner with Marketing to amplify community people, projects, demos, and stories.
• Develop scalable community programs beyond individual events.
• Establish goals and measurement for community growth, event participation, API signups, activation, product usage, advocacy, and pipeline.
• Represent You.com at developer conferences, meetups, hackathons, and other technical community events.
