Job summary

data.org seeks an AI Deployment Engineer to guide nonprofit grantees from idea to production, selecting or building AI tools that fit their needs. You will advise on architecture, data handling, safety, and change management while partnering closely with leaders and technical teams.

You will prototype and build reference implementations, evaluate workflows, and synthesize insights to shape Foundation tooling and grantmaking strategy. Hybrid SF work model. salary above.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a software engineer, preferably in customer-facing or solutions roles.
• Proficient in Python, Java, C++, and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of AI/LLM tools and practical real-world use cases.

Responsibilities

• Partner with nonprofit grantees to identify practical AI use cases and deploy.
• Advise on tool selection, architecture, data handling and change management.
• Prototype demonstrations and lightweight production systems.
• Test assumptions during grant design to align funding with credible paths.
• Develop reusable tools for responsible AI deployment in nonprofits.
• Synthesize grantee insights to inform Foundation strategy.
• Build relationships as a trusted technical advisor across the ecosystem.
