Job summary

SoftWriters seeks a Director of AI Operations & Delivery to lead agentic AI platform initiatives, driving product and engineering execution in a hybrid Pittsburgh role. You will manage delivery outcomes, define the roadmap, and ensure architectural alignment across teams.

You will mentor a growing team, build scalable processes, and partner with leadership to advance AI-powered healthcare solutions while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, product management, or engineering leadership.
• 3+ years managing high-performance blended or cross-functional teams.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with AI/ML systems, agentic systems, or orchestration platforms.
• Deep technical depth in cloud architecture (Azure/AWS) or distributed systems.
• Proven ability to bridge product and engineering between vision and execution.
• Experience in startup or R&D environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and own outcomes for agentic initiatives and sprint execution.
• Lead a blended product + engineering team (currently ~4, scaling).
• Define features, roadmap prioritization, and tradeoffs with shared ownership.
• Establish agentic fleet operations and lifecycle management processes.
• Maintain technical depth in agentic architecture, cloud infrastructure (Azure), and LLM integrations.
• Coordinate with VP of Engineering, IT/Cloud leadership, and product leadership on roadmap and constraints.
• Establish metrics, dashboards, and processes for delivery visibility, quality, and risk.
