Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Director of AI & Data Strategy to advance Mastercard’s thinking, frameworks and practices across AI and data strategy. You will lead research, evaluate emerging AI developments, and guide business, legal, privacy and risk teams on responsible AI frameworks and guardrails.

You will mentor colleagues, build governance models and collaborate to embed AI into core products while protecting customer trust and Mastercard’s long-term resilience.

Qualifications

• Recognized subject-matter expertise in AI strategy, data strategy, responsible AI, AI governance, technology policy or related discipline.
• Experience applying specialist knowledge to complex business, regulatory or societal challenges.
• Deep understanding of generative AI, agentic AI, ML, analytics and data foundations.

Responsibilities

• Champion responsible AI integration into core products, services and decision-making frameworks.
• Collaborate with legal, privacy, compliance, risk, technology, data, product and business teams to embed responsible AI practices.
• Monitor regulatory requirements, standards and societal expectations and adapt frameworks accordingly.
• Promote data literacy and practical guidance for both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Create reusable frameworks, models and best practices for AI and data strategy across Mastercard.
• Mentor colleagues and build internal expertise in AI and data domains.
