Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced leader to define and execute AI and data science strategy across ML, NLP, search, and generative AI in Philadelphia. You will build and coach high-performing teams, drive experiments from concept to production, and shape roadmaps with product and business leaders.

You will establish evaluation frameworks, responsible AI standards, and scalable AI/ML systems while collaborating across domains to deliver customer and business impact.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in data science, AI/ML, NLP, information retrieval, statistics, or related field.
• Strong expertise in machine learning, experimentation, deep learning, generative AI, and production AI systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, semantic search, embeddings, agentic workflows, and knowledge-driven systems.
• Proven success leading and developing technical teams in complex product, platform, or research environments.
• Experience with large, complex datasets and scalable, production-ready AI/ML systems.
• Strong people leadership, prioritization, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead AI and data science strategy across machine learning, NLP, search, recommendation, experimentation, and generative AI.
• Lead and develop high-performing teams through coaching, prioritization, scientific rigor, and inclusive collaboration.
• Deliver AI and knowledge-discovery systems across the lifecycle from experimentation through production, including LLMs, RAG, search, and domain-enriched AI solutions.
• Establish AI evaluation frameworks, metrics, experimentation practices, and responsible AI standards.
• Partner with product, technology, and business leaders to shape roadmaps and align teams on customer and business impact.
