Job summary

Encord in London is hiring a Technical Program Manager to lead high-stakes annotation projects end to end. You will translate ML requirements into actionable workflows, set quality standards, and coordinate cross-functional teams across product, engineering and annotators.

You will own delivery timelines, maintain throughput and quality, and coach teams through edge cases while improving playbooks and tooling. This hands-on role combines technical fluency with operations leadership.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of professional experience in AI data or annotation operations or related fields.
• End-to-end ownership of complex workflows with outcome responsibility.
• Working proficiency in Python or SQL.
• Experience managing, coaching or performance-managing a distributed workforce.
• Track record of holding quality and throughput with measurable data.
• Experience translating a detailed technical spec into actionable instructions.
• Bonus: experience in annotation, evaluation or model-training workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of projects end to end—throughput, quality and timeline.
• Translate ML requirements into clear annotation workflows.
• Become the deepest expert on project annotation standards at Encord.
• Maintain quality via process refinement, auditing and feedback loops.
• Train annotators and scale the team; collaborate with L&D roles.
• Coach annotation teams and ensure continuous skill growth.
• Measure annotator performance and make resourcing decisions.
• Allocate tasks across time zones to meet throughput and quality targets.
• Set launch acceptance criteria and measurement plans with Quality Systems Lead.
• Produce delivery reports for customers and surface risks early.
• Partner with Product and Engineering on process and tooling improvements.
