Job summary

Solomon Page has been retained to find an AI-focused Software Engineer for a mid-sized VC firm in New York City. You will design data models, build pipelines and APIs, and take problems from ambiguous statements through production use.

The role reports to the Head of Data and Analytics and collaborates with Investment and Engineering teams. The position requires strong Python and SQL skills, experience with production systems, and the ability to work with structured and unstructured data.

Qualifications

• Strong Python skills and comfort with SQL, databases, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Experience designing and maintaining production systems you were personally accountable for.
• Experience working across both structured and unstructured data.
• Ability to take ambiguous problems from design through production use.
• Clear explanations of technical decisions and tradeoffs in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Design the data models, interfaces, and services the firm's tooling is built on.
• Build the pipelines and APIs that move firm information into those models.
• Take problems from ambiguous statement through production use.
• Build tools on top of the data platform and incorporate user feedback.
