Job summary

IBM Consulting seeks a Consultant, AI and Data Engineer to build Snowflake-based data foundations and AI solutions for enterprise clients. You will design data pipelines, implement AI-ready data architectures, and deploy LLM-based applications in cloud environments.

You’ll collaborate with solution architects, data scientists, and client teams to deliver scalable, secure, production-grade solutions while advancing governance, security, and responsible AI practices across engagements.

Qualifications

• Spanning data engineering and applied AI with consulting experience.
• Strong SQL and Python skills; experience with dbt, Spark, or Snowpark.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouses on a cloud data platform.
• Hands-on experience with LLM-based applications: prompt engineering, RAG, vector stores and embeddings.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliant AI practices.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in Agile cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, operate ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouse models on Snowflake.
• AI Solution Development: Build, evaluate, and deploy LLM-based applications and ML models.
• AI-Ready Data Engineering: Prepare, chunk, embed, and govern data for AI consumption.
• Snowflake AI Platform: Implement solutions using Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark, Cortex Analyst/Agents, and related services.
• Evaluation and Reliability: Define evaluation datasets and metrics, implement testing, observability, and guardrails.
• Implementation and Deployment: Deploy solutions to cloud environments with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Client Engagement: Understand client requirements, present technical options and trade-offs, and integrate data/AI solutions into business processes.
• Governance and Security: Apply data governance, privacy, and responsible AI practices.
• Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Produce clear documentation for pipelines, models, prompts, and architectures.
• Continuous Learning: Track Snowflake and AI developments and bring practical recommendations.
