Job summary

IBM Consulting in the United States is seeking a Consultant, AI and Data Engineer to join a growing team of experts. You will build Snowflake data foundations and AI solutions on top of them, covering data ingestion, modeling, governance, and deployment of LLM-based and ML applications for clients.

The role requires hands-on experience with data pipelines, vector embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, and working with solution architects to deliver production-grade outcomes.

Qualifications

• Spanning data engineering and applied AI; consulting experience desirable.
• Strong SQL and Python; experience with dbt, Spark, Snowpark for transformation.
• Experience building ETL/ELT ingestion pipelines on a cloud data platform (Snowflake preferred).
• Hands-on with LLM-based apps: prompt engineering, embeddings, and agentic workflows.
• Knowledge of cloud services and CI/CD practices for data/AI workloads.

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and operate ETL/ELT pipelines and data models on Snowflake.
• AI Solution Development: Build and deploy LLM-based apps and ML models for clients.
• AI-Ready Data Engineering: Prepare, embed, and govern data for AI use cases with vector stores.
• Snowflake AI Platform: Use Cortex, Snowpark, and related services; integrate with external providers.
• Evaluation and Reliability: Define datasets, metrics, tests, and guardrails for AI outputs.
• Deployment: Deliver solutions to cloud environments with CI/CD and IaC practices.
• Client Engagement: Present options, gather requirements, and drive adoption of data/AI solutions.
• Governance and Security: Apply data governance, privacy, and responsible AI practices.
• Documentation: Produce docs for pipelines, models, prompts, and architectures.
• Continuous Learning: Track Snowflake and AI ecosystem developments for engagements.
