Job summary

UKG in Lowell, MA is seeking a data engineer to build and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines, write SQL and Python code, and organize data into trusted datasets for reporting and analytics.

You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business partners, support data quality and governance, and contribute to AI/ML initiatives while working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational experience with SQL and Python through coursework, projects, internships, or work experience.
• Understanding of databases, data structures, and basic data processing concepts.
• Interest in cloud data platforms and artificial intelligence.
• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
• Exposure to a cloud platform such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
• Familiarity with data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, or orchestration tools.
• Experience with Git and basic software development practices.
• Exposure to machine learning concepts or AI tools.
• Familiarity with data quality, metadata, or data governance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
