Mastercard in Purchase, NY is offering an AI & Data Co-Op for Northeastern University students, January 2027 to May 2027, 35–40 hours per week, in-office 3+ days. You’ll join a high‑performing data science and AI team, applying Python/SQL/R to build and evaluate predictive models and drive responsible AI practices.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a data-focused bachelor’s program with exposure to ML concepts, statistics, and data visualization, and must be eligible to work in the US without

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree at Northeastern University in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field with graduation between Dec 2027–June 2028.
• Exposure to statistics, probability, machine learning concepts, and data analysis techniques.
• Experience with data manipulation and analysis tools (Python pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, etc.).
• Familiarity with data visualization and storytelling to communicate insights.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to explore datasets and interpret results.
• This role is not eligible for Mastercard’s work authorization sponsorship; candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Member of a high-performing data science and AI team.
• Work on AI projects with statistical analysis, ML, and data mining using Python/SQL/R.
• Develop and evaluate predictive models focusing on accuracy and responsible AI.
• Navigate the data science lifecycle from exploration to deployment.
• Address challenges across products, regions, and customer needs.
