Job summary

Mastercard invites a highly motivated AI & Data Co-op student to join the Purchase, NY team from January 2027 through May 2027, estimating 35–40 hours per week and an on-site presence of 3+ days. You will work on AI projects using Python, SQL, or R for data analysis and model development.

You will be part of a high-performing data science team, applying statistical techniques, building predictive models, and ensuring responsible AI practices to improve decision-making and customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at Northeastern University in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field with a graduation date between Dec 2027 - Jun 2028.
• Exposure to statistics, probability, machine learning concepts, and data analysis techniques.
• Experience with data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., Python libraries such as pandas, NumPy, or scikit-learn).

Responsibilities

• Apply statistical analysis, ML, and data mining to real datasets.
• Develop and evaluate predictive models with a focus on accuracy, explainability, and responsible AI practices.
• Support data science lifecycle from exploration to deployment across products and regions.
