Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Principal, Hardware Design Engineering to lead architecture and development of AI data center hardware solutions in Austin. This role drives conception, design, and implementation while serving as the primary technical contact for customer-specific designs from proposal to deployment.

Expect extensive experience in compute hardware, GPUs, high-speed interfaces and storage tech, with leadership across hardware product solutions. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Over 15 years of progressive hardware design experience.
• Deep expertise in compute hardware architectures for datacenter, telecom, enterprise and service provider environments.
• Hands-on mastery of AMD/Intel GPUs, Broadcom Ethernet Switches, x86 architectures and storage technologies (HDDs, SSDs, SAS/SATA, PCIe, CXL).
• Strong presentation, mentoring and customer-centric problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead ideation and concept design for next-generation hardware architectures tailored for high-performance AI data center solutions.
• Architect complex hardware systems and provide strategic direction for AI data center planning and design.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leads to define a technology roadmap prioritizing innovation in data center solutions.
• Engage with strategic customers to understand problems and provide hardware solutions aligned with Celestica designs.
• Lead product concepts from architecture through prototyping, evaluation, and release.
